- Hmm... looks like I was lucky :) (I've heard from others that also
- had their system crash when the "Unexpected Status" message poped up.)
-
- Sounds like a bug in gvpscsi.device to me... what version are you
- running? (I'm running v 4.4 these days) I wish I could have recrated
- the circumstances better... but it only happened twice in many hours
- of use for me.
-
- : Are you using any other devices as well as the Zip Drive?
-
- Yes, there's a NEC CD-ROM and a Tandberg tape drive on that bus as
- well.
-
- : I'd agree with
- : your 600K/sec estimate though, bit feeble isn't it?
-
- Yeah. I've decided to keep the Zip on the 4091 bus for now. It's
- >200K/s faster and hasn't given me an "Unexpected Status" message yet :)
-
- : How do you check if the GVP board itself is terminated?
-
- If you bought it new and haven't de-soldered the resistor packs, then
- it's terminated.
-
- I can't get a good look at my 4008 right now, but the terminator
- resistor packs should be somewhere near the SCSI connector.
- You should either see three rows (8 solder holesin each row), or three 8-pin
- resistor packs near the internal connector. (There could also be two
- rows of longer resistor packs, but I don't think GVP used those.)
-
- Anyone know what the RN# is for the terminators on a 4008? (As I
- said, I can't get a good look at mine without taking out *lots* of
- stuff :)
